Pornhub Launches ‘Old School’ Sex-Ed Campaign for Retirement Communities and Nursing Homes
Leading Adult Entertainment Platform Produces Sex-Ed Video Starring Adult Star Nina Hartley Available on VHS to Promote Safe Sex Among Seniors, Including the Prevention of STIs
New York, NY (July 18, 2017) – Pornhub, the premier online destination for adult entertainment, today announced the launch of “Old School,” a sexual education video and campaign geared towards those in retirement communities and nursing homes. Thanks to medical advancements the elderly are becoming more sexually active than ever but are lacking information and awareness with regards to the transmission and treatment of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs). The video, which is available both digitally and on VHS, is starred by registered nurse, adult film actress and sex educator, Nina Hartley.
The issue, according to experts, is that many seniors think the purpose for contraception is to prevent pregnancy, rather than to prevent the spread of STIs. With pregnancy not an issue for seniors, they are forgoing condoms and are contracting venereal diseases at an alarming rate, which, with weaker immune systems, can be very dangerous.
“Thanks to advancements in modern medicine, there are senior citizens who are twice as active as people half their age. However, unlike their younger counterparts, a majority of them are unware about sexually transmitted infections, which has caused a massive spike in these types of infections in retirement communities and nursing homes,” said Corey Price, VP, Pornhub. “To help stop the spreading of STIs among elder parents, grandparents and great grandparents, with whom we would not be here today, we thought it best to create a sex-ed video, ‘Old School’ style. To do so, we tapped pornstar veteran Nina Hartley, who resonates well with that demographic, and we made it available both on VHS and online, so no matter how technologically savvy an elder person is, they can access the video.”
The 15 minute video also offers tips and information for physically less demanding sexual positions, which at more advanced ages can be a high-risk sport, so seniors can still move their hips, but do not have worry about breaking them. The positions include The Chair, L’andromaque, The Spoon and The Magic Mountain.
“Contrary to belief, sexual desire doesn’t diminish with age and is one of the last functions many lose in their golden years, so tag-teaming with Pornhub to teach elders valuable lessons on how to have safe-sex seemed necessary,” said Hartley. “In creating this video, we hope we can give our parents and grandparents useful advice to bring back into the bedroom in order to decrease the spread of diseases and injuries when playing helicopter with Mr. Johnson.”
